We are creative people with a passion for precision, and we pride ourselves on our ability to harmonize well-designed form and practical function with equal emphasis put on both. We enjoy working with clients to generate options that explore how their vision can be manifested into something tangible, and explain the mechanics of those decisions with a distilled economy of language. Whether our clients are starting with loose ideation or highly-detailed specifications, we provide careful considerations that will galvanize a clear path to design their home renovations, storefront remodels, interactive events, or custom furniture.

CONSTRUCTION CONSULTATION

Lineweight initially launched as a consulting firm that acted as a mediator between private clients, architects, and contractors due to the lack of clear communication between those parties that is prevalent in the design/build industry. We understand that it can be challenging to navigate the dialogue and decision-making process between an architect’s ideals and a general contractor’s reality. Fortunately, Lineweight has a breadth of experience with not only technical drafting and building codes, but reasonable modes of construction and finishing treatments. We serve as facilitators who can draw alternative renderings or adjust connections in-situ, so that our clients can rest assured that their project will avoid bottlenecks and stay on target.

FABRICATION

We love making things for other people. Finish carpentry and custom millwork is not our only specialty though. From traditional hardwood joinery to engineered composites, casting precious-metals to welding ferrous alloys, sewing custom textiles, or bonding plastics, we have a deep appreciation for manipulating materials. Our fabrication shop in Williamsburg is outfitted with high-tier tools and equipment that allow us to make your project more carefully, and our system is mobile so that we can work more efficiently on-site.

INSTALLATION

If you’ve found the perfect cabinets for your kitchen, light fixtures for your showroom, artwork for your gallery, cashwraps for your storefront, or temporary walls for your event, we can handle installation for you swiftly and safely. We go to great lengths to protect your space and work cleanly, from installing high-value paintings in museums to custom countertops in luxury apartments.

SITE MANAGEMENT

Some clients may have all of the details worked out ahead of time but need someone that can delegate, schedule, and track a number of different contractors and vendors so that work-flow can operate efficiently with minimal interruptions. Budgets and timelines can be difficult to maintain even when work orders and deliveries are confirmed, but we provide organized logistics to keep everyone in sync.
